[ When life gives you lemons, you throw them the fuck away because who knows what has happened to them. They could have been eaten without a second thought, but that is before everything became a hellhole and it's impossible to really trust food. What if there's something gross inside that will make you sick? If you get sick, you're screwed in this situation. The end of the world came and the systems are beyond repair.
It's eat or be eaten in this world. Risks can't be taken very often because the end result normally leads to death and although death would be an escape from all of this, you can't find any enjoyment in life if you're dead. It isn't like Velvet has felt much enjoyment since she started this whole journey of just trying to survive. ]
The water will last us for a couple more days at least.

[ Splitting up would be a good idea in any situation that isn't this one. If they could make a noise to alert the other it wouldn't be so bad, but noise is likely to make the pair target number one. ]
